Hi all! Hope you all had a great week. The weather in the Bay Area has been HOT and I’ve definitely been soaking up our rare summer weather.
I now have less than 2 weeks until my wedding and while I’m excited for the weekend, I am SO relieved to almost be done with the planning/preparations. It’s been a total time suck and creative energy drain.

My favorite feedback
Some of the most rewarding work feedback I’ve gotten recently came not from a coworker but instead from someone I interviewed. They passed the interview round and after they decided to take a different offer passed along some feedback about our interview together. They shared that they had had some bad interviews in their job search but in our interview I made them feel comfortable and break the bad cycle.
It can be easy to get caught up in the interview grind, annoyed that it is taking up time from our busy week, but we should also remember on the other side of the table is a peer who is also taking time out of their busy weeks to the opportunity to interview with you. A smile and an engaged, welcoming, encouraging attitude can go a long way in making them feel more positively about the interview and even perform better. While they ultimately decided not to join our team, I’m glad I could make it a good experience for them and them sharing that feedback was a great reminder for me to take the time and energy to approach every interview this way.
